Summer Night Out Look

Since there was a party to go to and the weather was lovely my sister and I thought it would be fun to breakdown how we came up with the look.

Clothes

Leather jacket, Topshop / Floral play suit, River Island / Gold belt, River Island / Gold Sandals, Topshop
We sort of went for a 50's pinup style look with a modern edgy twist, which is evident in the pictures above. Jewellery seemed a little excessive with the busyness of the print so the belt is the only accessory we decided to use to complete the look.

Hair

The style we went for was a half up, half down style with a slight beehive which compliments the face of shape and helps develop the retro vibe.
Products used: TRESemme 24 Hour Body Amplifying Mouse, John Frieda Frizz-Ease Dream Curls Styling Spray, Berber Oil, TRESemme Heat Defence Styling Spray, Paul Mitchell Quick Slip Styling Cream, BaByliss Waving Wand 2286U, Batiste big & bouncy XXL Volume Dry Shampoo, TRESemme Firm Hold Volume & Lift Hairspray

So firstly, after the hair was washed and before blow drying, I applied TRESemme 24 Hour Body Amplifying Mouse just to the roots, John Frieda Frizz-Ease Dream Curls Styling Spray to help with enhancing the waves, Berber Oil to smooth the ends and decrease drying time and obviously TRESemme Heat Defence Styling Spray to protect the hair from heat damage.

Secondly, following the blow drying, I applied Paul Mitchell Quick Slip Styling Cream to help define the waves. I then put the hair in 3 layers for curling and took sections of about 2cm at a time with the BaByliss Waving Wand 2286U ensuring each time that the curls were shaped away from the face.

Once I was finished curling a sectioned off curls on each side of the face to shape the face. I then applied Batiste big & bouncy XXL Volume Dry Shampoo to the crown and started to work it through. Then I backcombed it into a small beehive, twisted it and secured it was some kirby grips (bobby pins).

To finish a sprayed TRESemme Firm Hold Volume & Lift Hairspray through the hair to lift and hold the waves.

Face

The look went for is a really glowy skin with soft smokey eyes and subtle pink lips.
Products used in order: NIP+FAB Sheer Make-up Fix, Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Ivory, VIVO Ultimate Base Concealer Kit, BM beauty Mineral Bronzer in Summer Warmth, MAC Mineralize Blush in Dainty, Soap&Glory It's About Prime Eyeshadow Underbase in Bright Light, MAC Paint Pot in Painterly, Stila Into the Light Palette using Bare, Sandstone and Gilded Gold, MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack, Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara, Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in English Rose

Firstly, I applied NIP+FAB Sheer Make-up Fix to the face focusing on the T-zone. Then I applied Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Ivory to the face with a flat foundation brush covering dark circles with the salmon shade and any blemishes with the darker shade from the VIVO Ultimate Base Concealer Kit.

Next I applied BM beauty Mineral Bronzer in Summer Warmth to the cheekbones focusing on the highest part working it into the temples and across the forehead and down the nose and jaw line. The I applied MAC Mineralize Blush in Dainty to the apple of the cheeks to brighten the complexion a little.

Moving on to the eyes, I firstly applied Soap&Glory It's About Prime Eyeshadow Underbase in Bright Light all over the lids. Since the shadows I was going to be using were brown and gold I use MAC Paint Pot in Painterly as a neutral base. Then using the Stila palette I applied Bare all over the lid and browbone, Sandstone on the lid and blended up into the crease and Gilded Gold in the crease and lightly on the bottom lash line. For eyeliner I applied quite a thin line to the top lashline using MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack. All these products together really bring out the blue in the eyes. To finish the eyes two coats of Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara was applied to the lashes

To finish to look we used Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in English Rose and set the makeup with a few spritz of ELF Makeup Mist&Set.
